How Does Your Autoresponder Grow?
During a recent conference call with members of my web development team we had an intense conversation about the pros and con’s of autoresponders. There is no question that aggressive spam filters and other technologies can impact their deliverability and effectiveness, which is way I always recommend that you use a 3rd party autoresponder system such as Aweber. They promise greater than 90% deliverability. I have used them for many years, so can tell you that this is actually true.
My observation of autoresponders through the years indicates that they are not at all obsolete, but that they are often improperly managed. It is not uncommon to visit a website where the autoresponder was set up long ago and now boasts outdated links, not to mention products that are outdated, or no longer available.
Used properly, and updated regularly, autoresponders are a wonderful way to increase traffic to your websites and blogs. They allow visitors to your sites to request the details of your products, services, and company information. One of the many uses that we have found is to use autoresponders as an invoicing tool. By sending our clients a monthly payment reminder along with a small message alerting them to new services or products, we are able to provide them with fresh information on a regular basis. If you need a “for instance” take a look at a credit card bill or your phone bill. They ALWAYS use this marketing technique to sell products or services. Don’t let this opportunity to connect with your customers and clients slip away.
