BubbleTweet – Add A Video Message To Your Twitter Page

Here is yet another engaging and entertaining Twitter tool.  Bubble Tweet allows you to add a pop-up video message to your Twitter page in seconds.  You will have to have a camera already attached to your computer for this to work as this site does not allow user uploaded videos.

Why would you want to use BubbleTweet? I think it would be useful if you wanted to deliver a welcoming message or some important or time sensitive message with a personal message from you when Twitterers land on your page. They can then pause, reply or close the introduction video that you have created. After watching the video, your visitors will be redirected back to the original Twitter profile page. There is also a stat counter which lets you know how many views your video received.

I wouldn’t abuse this, as it seems like it could become annoying after a while, but for time sensitive announcements it may well be a good thing.

Use Flickr To Create a Twitter Background

If you have a Flickr account with some really neat images that you would like to share on your Twitter background you now do so very easily with Flickr My Background by Sawhorse Media.  This free web-based tool checks your Flickr account for new images each hour which can be interesting.  If you have images in there that may not be appropriate to use on your Twitter account this may not be a great application for you.

It is very straightforward and easy to use. Simply enter your email address and your Twitter login information. You will then be sent to Flickr to connect your account to Twitter and you are done.

Customize Your Twitter Profile With Free Backgrounds

Not everybody works in Photoshop and for my less tech savvy friends, My Tweet Space offers Twitter users a way to brand their Twitter profile without having to know how to work in an image editor.  Spend about ten minutes working with their free Twitter backgrounds and your profile will stand out from the crowd.  My Tweet Space offers over 100 themes and backgrounds and you can also create a custom badge that allows you to add your contact information such as your name, company name, website, blog, phone number and address.

Twitter Tools – Tweetree lets you View Threaded Conversations

Trying to figure out what replies on a Twitter’s timeline are can be both time consuming and fairly annoying.

Tweetree is a web application that compiles all the posts in your Twitter stream into a tree so you can see the original posts and subsequent replies. This very neat little application will also allow you to view external media such as pictures from TwitPic or Flickr and even videos from YouTube.

Twitter Applications Allow You to Be More Effective

Like me, you are probably already posting to Twitter directly on the Twitter website. Unfortunately this approach can be limited in that you need to be at your computer. Now you can post to Twitter directly from your desktop as well as you iPhone, Mac or Blackberry.

This list of software applications and various services will make your Twitter experience easier and enjoyable.

Tweetdeck

TweetDeck is an Adobe Air desktop application that is currently in public beta. It aims to evolve the existing functionality of Twitter by taking an abundance of information i.e twitter feeds, and breaking it down into more manageable bite sized pieces.

TweetLater

You can schedule a maximum of 12 status update tweets for any rolling 60 minute window, and you can’t use this service to send replies or direct messages. This isn’t a service for spammers.

twhirl

twhirl is a social software desktop client, that runs on both Windows (2000/XP/Vista) and Mac OSX. In addition to Twitter, twhirl will connect you to multiple identi.ca, Friendfeed and seesmic accounts. You can also use twhirl to cross-post your twitter updates to Pownce and Jaiku.

Twittelator

Twittelator is an ad-free application by the Big Stone Phone Company for your iPhone. Twittelator can be downloaded from Big Stone’s “App Store” on your iPhone. In an emergency, you can simply click the Emergency icon to create a Tweet with a map of your current location.

TwitterBerry

TwitterBerry is mobile client for posting updates to Twitter. It works over the data network, so you don’t need to use SMS. Supported devices include:
